New Guidance from the RCR

Setting up a regional or national radiology digital teaching archive

This document provides expert guidance on the technical requirements for individual radiologists and the picture archiving and communication systems (PACS) industry to facilitate and improve the connectivity and simplify submission of anonymised annotated cases between PACS and a digital archive whether local, regional or national, for teaching or research purposes.
Currently, if a radiologist wants to contribute teaching cases to any national/regional teaching archive, the process is laborious at a time when radiologist resource is scarce. Breaking down the technological barriers to contributing imaging studies directly from a PACS viewer to a teaching archive or a research database would make teaching and research in the NHS much more efficient.  Click here for more information from the RCR website.
