CReST & CReST 2

The CReST trial was designed to look at the role of endoluminal stenting in the acute management of obstructing colorectal cancer.

This trial was developed by the NCRI Colorectal Cancer Study Group and was funded by Cancer Research UK.

It completed in late 2016 and summary results are available here

CReST 2 is a further randomised trial comparing patient quality of life after use of covered vs. uncovered stents for palliation of obstructing colorectal cancer. It aims to recruit 350 patients over 3 years. The Radiology lead is Andy Lowe, Taunton

The study opened in 2017, and aims to complete recruitment by mid 2020.
